Cooking

Do I need cooking equipment?
Nope, you should have everything. We do encourage the use of measuring spoons, cups and optionally an electronic food weighing scales. These are things you will use time and time again and are very inexpensive.

Do I need lots of ingredients?
No. All our recipes are designed to use the minimum amount of ingredients. Typically there are 5 ingredients per recipe and these will be readily available at your local store. Some ingredients will be required but you will use them time and time again.

Do I need to like cooking?
No, we understand that everyone is different and not everyone likes cooking. While we highly recommend home preparation, its not essential. There are lots of simple recipes that require no cooking and are easily and quickly assembled.

Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free?
Our programs promote healthy living across all diet types and do not focus on a particular diet. Our nutritionists and instructors are there to help should you need specific ideas or recipe adaptations.

General

How much time is required each day?
All programs are designed with a busy schedule in mind and should not take more than 20 minutes a day to complete. Some of the optional activities such as training and cooking will take more time but these can be scheduled to suit you.

Why does it take so long?
Healthy weight loss is something that shouldn’t feel like work or deprivation. That’s why we aim for a slow weight loss curve over six months that can be maintained. If you lose weight faster due to restriction you are more than likely going to gain back the weight you lost and some more.

Will I lose weight?
Yes, if you follow the weight loss programs and put what you learn into practice. Weight loss shouldn’t be a short term goal, rather it should be a goal you want to reach and maintain. We aim for long term habit change not a short term weight loss diet.

How much does it cost?
Most of our programs are 100% free, we would highly recommend you complete these first. Once completed we have additional programs that are available, see the pricing page for full details.

Exercise

Do I need fitness equipment?
Nope, casual loose clothing for exercise is all that is required. For some of the activities a yoga mat may be more comfortable. General fitness equipment such as weights, running shoes are optional.

How much room do I need?
For home exercise a good test is: lie on the floor with your arms and legs outstretched, this should be enough space. Simply removing a coffee table or using quiet space in your bedroom should be sufficient.

I’m fit and healthy already?
Our programs are designed for participants who are looking to lose weight the healthy way. If you are fit and healthy already our programs are not an ideal match for you. See “Is BodMinSou” suitable for me?

I’m just looking for workouts?
While we do look at exercise as part of a healthy lifestyle, this is not our primary focus. The first step in losing weight should be based on a healthy diet followed by healthy activity. Our 24 day “Exercise At Home” program covers workouts but only at a beginner level.
